About ARC

Abbott Risk Consulting (ARC) is one of the largest independent safety consultancies in the world, providing safety engineering, human factors and cyber security consultancy services to the Transportation, Oil and Gas, Green Energy, Nuclear and Defence sectors.

ARC was established by John Abbott in 2002 as a flat organisation dedicated to excellence, while also fostering an enjoyable work environment where employees would have opportunities to travel and gain cross-industry experience.

With a commitment to openness, honesty and treating every team member fairly, alongside offering shares in the company to all employees, ARC grew rapidly and now exhibits a turnover exceeding GBP 40 million. The company's success is reflected in its strong financial performance, low staff turnover and loyal client base. This success has also been recognised by the UK Sunday Times who have regularly identified ARC as one of the top UK companies to work for, for over 10 years.

ARC is an equal opportunities employer.

About the Graduate Position

Our graduate scheme philosophy focuses on providing the support you need, when you need it. ARC takes a supported, learning on the job approach with graduates focusing their time on HAZOP's, HAZID'S and Bowties (national and international), preparation of correlating reports and proposals. There will be opportunities for external formal training courses, as well as attendance at industry events.

Once embedded, ARC adopts an organic approach to ensuring you gain experience across all sectors of the business. Typically, defence and nuclear projects span over many years, whereas oil & gas projects tend to have shorter lifecycles, allowing you to acquire a diverse range of experience more quickly.

You will be supported by a Line Manager who will be local to you and by various project managers and consultants. Our office locations all have a strong in-office presence, and office working is an expectation of this position- this approach not only accelerates your development but also allows existing employees to learn from you, while preserving ARC's culture and fostering collaboration.
