John, a Chartered Engineer, began his career with P&O as a sea-going engineering officer traveling all over the world. Following the decline in shipping in the early eighties, John joined Rolls-Royce in Derby where he ultimately became responsible for the nuclear safety justification of HMNB Clyde.
John's vision was to build a company that focused on empowering its people, where staff are treated fairly and actively supported to become the best they can be.
With a flat structure and a clear ethos based on “playing with a straight bat” and “going the extra mile” the ARC team quickly grew to over 150 consultants spread across the UK and Australia. Staff are rewarded for their contribution rather than job title or number of direct reports; ARC focuses on empowering all employees.
Over 20 years later, ARC delivers strong profit margins on a turnover in excess of £30 million.
